I wanted to enjoy this book more than I did, as I liked the premise of a group of women in their early 50s who feel that the world is against them, and other women of a certain age, and the men in their lives (personal and professional) are unfairly rising to the top.
A group of 4 old friends who had drifted apart after university come back together and realise their lives are not all they may seem to outsiders, and after a few glasses of wine the Revenge Club is born, so they can get their revenge on partners, colleagues and more.
There is some humour and wit (though somewhat farcical) in their plans but ultimately it tipped into being overly silly and unbelievable, despite what is at heart a serious message - and some difficult truths coming out in the course of the book
Not an author I've read in a long time, and honestly not one I'll read again any time soon
