Chaos Monkeys: Obscene Fortune and Random Failure in Silicon Valley by Antonio Garcia Martinez

5.0

This is the story of a Antonio Garcia Martinez, a physics phd from Berkley who then went to Wall Street to work as a quant, then went to AdChemy a Silicon Valley startup, then went to become a founder of a YC-backed startup AdGrok. Went to Facebook to create FBX. There's drama and strife in each of these steps, revealing how crazy the Tech world really is.

Do I recommend this book to you? Yes, if you are a software engineer, and/or you are interested in knowing what goes on in Silicon Valley.

Is the book well written? Hmm, well, not really, not that I could do any better, but this is a long blog post. There are a lot of sentences that are hard to read.

Is the book entertaining? Hell yeah it's entertaining! I couldn't put this sucker down.

Is the book honest? I think is honest in the sense that whatever it's written down is factually true. However, you also have to read between the lines and notices what's left out of the story to make up your own mind.

Good read.
