The Man Behind the Door by William F. Gray

5.0

There are elements of Chuck Wendig's BOOK OF ACCIDENTS, Stephen King's PET SEMATARY, and A COSMOLOGY OF MONSTERS by Shawn Hamill.

I don't even know that Gray has read these books, but he tapped into each of them in a supernatural, family epic of possession and obsession. I was ready to be distracted, taken out of the narrative, or underwhelmed, but I devoured this book in a single sitting. Three generations of family destruction and the chains of history converge in a very disturbing house for one amazing book!

One note I had to stop for to take down was this, "The scene with Frank confronting Virgil was amazing."
