Probably the weirdest book I'll read all year (non-derogatory). I think I went into this expecting something wildly different than what I got, but even though I don't think I full understood everything July is doing here, the way she gently and thoughtfully explores the havoc and peace of a woman going through menopause was incredibly cathartic to read about, even as a 20-something. There's an inhibition to the main character's journey, a unapologetic messiness to her moving into this different stage in her life that felt so unlike anything I'd ever read. Be prepared not to understand everything, but feel deeply changed nonetheless.
