they invented love and then uninvented it and then reinvented it AGAIN!!!
Laughed AND cried in public while reading this so really we’ve covered all our bases!
I just love Nathan Hill’s writing style and I am so happy to see that he’s not a one-hit-wonder for me. I found all of these characters so relatable (in good ways and in unflattering ways) and so many of the interpersonal dynamics are so messy and complicated and real in such a touching way. This is a book about being an artist and falling in love and middle age malaise and college age Artist Rebellion and recovering from trauma and also dads on Facebook?? This world is so big and so full and I want to eat this book.
Absolutely saw the ending coming but only because the book’s themes are so clear that it’s like of COURSE it ends this way it’s the only way it could end but it’s about the journey because really that’s how life is!! Of course the answer is that everything will always be uncertain but the only way to live is to subject yourself to that uncertainty and fully live in every moment regardless of the future or security etc etc etc (eck cetera ha ha …
