This is a fast-paced entertaining read. Told in dual timelines, through multiple perspectives, including diary entries and letters. You find yourself constantly trying to figure out how the past and the present are connected. 

I enjoyed that the focus is around strong, capable women who save themselves and their communities. I was a bit confused with the resolution.
I just didn’t quite understand the motivation and role of Savina. We did not get her point of view and that left me with some questions.
