It is not the worst YA I've read, but it was so very formulaic. You know exactly what happens just by the title and the fact that it's YA.
The books does not stand on its own at all. Not EVERY book has to be a series, and I find it incredibly annoying when flimsy little books like this are made into them.
I bet the series as a whole, well-editied and combined into a single book, would have been a satisfying read.
I will say though that for young tweens, this would be a good book. It's nice every once in a while to have a book that is not heavy on the dark-and-edgy. This is much more innocent, a little tween daydream.
