Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

5.0

Anne of Green Gables is a remedy to any tired heart or mind.
Reading through Anne's story of neglect, her adoption into Marilla and Matthew's life, her education, and relationships, we pick up something of her optimism, determination and spirit.
Montgomery's descriptions of the beautiful Prince Edward Island and the characters in and around Avonlea add to the plot and affords a wonderful escapism.
The story is set over 100 years ago but has so many relatable features that it is a true delight to read.
