This book is ridiculously well written, the writing really makes the happenings of the book stick in your head in a way which it almost feels like you are actually there. The story itself of what happened to this group is wild, a true tale of teamwork and mutual support. Always nice to see examples of human beings working together in times of crisis, people often believe that the opposite is the case through fictional stories like Lord of the Flies - but in practice, it's a relief that the opposite is true. I found the parts when the dogs needed to be murdered to be super disturbing, which is a testament to the good writing, but also damn :(
