I liked this book better than the first in the series, which probably has something to do with the Royal/non-royal trope I love so much. One of the things I really enjoyed is that Bridget and Rhys had a lot of time to really get to know each other and establish a connection and friendship before they fell in love. With these kinds of smutty books, that isn't usually the case, so it was nice that their relationship felt believable. Plus, the yearning and tension and wanting and obstacles - it all made it that much more satisfying in the end. Again, Ana added in an unexpected twist which livened up the plot.
Graphic: Child abuse, Death of parent
Minor: Drug abuse
