From Twinkle, with Love
by Sandhya Menon
Reading this book reminded me a lot of when I read Emma by Jane Austen. At first, I was really bothered by the heroine, and I felt she was selfish and arrogant. Eventually though, she begins to actually listen to other people and learn, and the frustration in the beginning is worth it. I liked all of the characters (even though Twinkle bothered me a lot in the beginning). This book focuses on 3 major relationships and issues with those relationships in Twinkle's life, and she learns to see new perspectives in all of them. I liked that aspect of the story a lot because it wasn't too heavily skewed towards family drama, chick lit friendship, or romance. Instead, the focus remains on her and how she deals with her emotions and interactions.
