Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
3.0
Read for the Booktube Prize - review and rating coming in August!
The main character / narrator has a distinct voice. It has an engaging but predictable plot - too formulaic (due to it being a retelling of the Dickens book?). Some parts feel a bit preachy with social issues - it makes the young protagonist sound wise in a weirdly level-headed way (when in most parts he is usually untrusting and cynical).
