A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron

4.0

This is such a sweet and wonderful book, recommended for all dog lovers. It made me laugh, cry and understand humans wonderful bond with their dogs. Told through the eyes of Bailey who realizes as a pup that, "My purpose as a dog, is to comfort the boy whenever he needed me." lives three lives that come full circle when he finds the boy again as an old man. He questioned why he kept coming back to life, what was it he still need to do? At the end of the story, he finally recognizes, "Why I had lived so many times. I had to learn a lot of important skills and lessons so that when the time came I could rescue Ethan, not from the pond but from the sinking despair of his own life."

Well written, beautiful, and touching.
