The Paradox of Choice: Why More Is Less by Barry Schwartz

informative lighthearted reflective fast-paced

3.5

I bought this a few years ago for reasons I can’t remember, and it’s sat on my shelf. Then, a couple months ago, I started working part time in a bridal salon helping brides select their wedding gown. In a short amount of time I’ve seen how the expansion of choice, fear of regret, and stakes of their decision holds them up from making a purchase. I wanted to understand this and be more helpful in a situation where the consumer is faced with making a decision that will hopefully only happen once in their life, so I picked this up off the shelf. I’ve found it incredibly helpful and have made a list of reminders for myself that I took from this book that I know will be helpful during consultations with brides. Definitely an easy read but with some great insight!
