Blue Bayou by Jiffy Kate

5.0

Blue Bayou is one of those books that fills you with wanderlust. It's impossible to read it and not want to go to New Orleans, where it takes place. Simply put, it's a refreshing and perfect summer read.

Maverick Kensington, the son of a Dallas real estate mogul, takes a last-minute trip to NOLA to escape the demands of his imposing father and to rethink his life. Walking around the French quarter he stumbles onto the Blue Bayou, a quirky and off-the-beaten-path hotel run by Carys Matthews, a 25-years-old "hot mess."

And it's an attraction at first sight. Maverick is simply a good guy who genuinely sets to help Carys. And by doing so he clears his head and finds his own path. Their chemistry and tension are so off the charts, that you will want to read the book in one sitting. And don't think for a minute that this story is predictable! Twists and turns take place when you think you have figured out where the story is going. Plus there are some cameos you will not see coming.

So not only the story and the characters are incredible but this talented writing duo describes the French Quarter in such a way, that it almost feels like you are there. You will probably want to book a trip right away.
