Heart Berries by Terese Marie Mailhot

4.0

I'm amazed at how beautifully raw this memoir is. Heart Berries is a heartbreaking tale of loss, identity, illness, and struggle. It's a story woven artfully by a reluctant storyteller in denial of and in pursuit of her own culture while balancing a tumultuous relationship and precarious mental health. Reading this memoir is like standing in the eye of Mailhot's personal hurricane: breathtaking, overwhelming, and beautiful.
