A Book of Spirits and Thieves
by Morgan Rhodes
*4.5 stars
Normally Rhodes' books are solid 4 star reads for me but I was really impressed with this books improvements in comparison to her first three books. I think her writing got stronger. She did better with showing not telling which was a problem I had in her earlier books though it still wasn't perfect. I connected with the characters quickly as well which was also an issue I had before. The pacing really impressed me personally and I have zero complaints about that. She does that well most of the time and her plots are very well thought out and engaging, not to mention the plot twists I never saw coming!
I kept theorizing and was wrong every time but I think that's good, I hate too much predictability. Excited for the sequel!
