I must admit, I’ve been spoiled by a childhood of reading Agatha Christie novels, and this just wasn’t the “mystery” I tend to seek out, with reveals playing along more like a police procedural that introduces many new characters even up to the halfway point and beyond and withholding clues from the audience until the last moment to make a more shocking reveal. The ending felt rushed rather than earned to me.

Pros: everyone is very cute feeling, it got the “cozy” part of the equation down well. It’s a relaxing and light read, and great for winding down after a stressful day with just enough going on to see you to the end.

Cons: main character is very quick to judge and has a lot of free time to do so lol. Not much meat of a mystery, and spends a lot of time on “slice of life” domestic scenes.
