Was this authors writing style flawless? Yes

This author clearly did a TON of research and knows her stuff and the story itself was beautifully written and I understand why it is so popular because it should be if your a mythology lover, which is why this book got 4 stars.
With retellings/reworkings I always focus more on the writing than of the story itself because the story has been written before and is well known so the ending is never shocking its more about the journey along the way.
This author has a beautiful way with words that depicts the heart wrenching story/accounting of Achilles and Patroclus life together and I loved it. I listened to the audiobook and wow does the narrator absolutely NAIL the voices within this story. Frazor Douglas made it seem like there was more than one person speaking because his differences between all the character voices were THAT good.
Highly recommend the audiobook if you choose to dive into this retelling.
