The Children's Hour by Lillian Hellman
3.0
See, this is why children absolutely terrify me!
Plot placing is good. The characters are well fleshed out. Ending, although a bit dramatic, hit where it needed to.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the topic of homosexuality being dealt with in a book published in 1934.
some takeaways from this:
➼ How easily a person's life can be ruined.
➼ How society is the most judgmental presence among us who eviscerate on the first sign of "difference" around them.
p.s ― Watch the Audrey Hepburn movie!!
