I was convinced that Marley was a ghost and that Kyle was just hallucinating her as a way to cope with the loss of Kim. I wish I was fully right, instead, just over halfway through the book Kyle wakes up from a coma and we're hit with a "it was all a dream." Not entirely a dream, there were bits of reality from when Kyle could hear his friends and mom talk while he was under and his dreamlike state trying to make the things he was hearing make sense.
The ending though? Super weird, there was no need for Marley to get hit by a car, die momentarily, and then come back to life. I understand that it was her saying goodbye to the pains of her past, but that was a really odd way to do it, and if you're going to throw in a last-minute twist like that, you can't resolve it immediately after.
I was really bored while reading too, I just kept wishing that the chapters would get shorter and that I would reach the end of the book sooner.
