Stalking Jack the Ripper
by Kerri Maniscalco
Oh this novel ... I like the idea behind it (which isn't that surprising as I've been fascinated by Jack the Ripper since my childhood) but I'm not the biggest fan of the excecution. Audrey Rose seems like a character from the 21st century who somehow ended up in 1888. Don't get me wrong feminism is amazing but putting this kind of attitude in the story didn't do it any favours. Why couldn't we have some feminist thought and attitude in the story that fitted this period?
The conclusion and Audrey Rose's actions didn't convince me either I have to admit.
This sounds pretty negative so far but it was a somewhat entertaining story nevertheless. (It just could have been so much better!) It was an easy and quick read and I would probably give it 2.5 stars.

Did she really think that she could catch Jack the Ripper on her own without any weapons? And let not get me started on the constant emphasis of her feelings being in her way ...This sounds pretty negative so far but it was a somewhat entertaining story nevertheless.
