Defend the Dawn by Brigid Kemmerer
4.25
adventurous emotional inspiring reflective fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Choices never seem like choices when the world only offers us bad ones.

what i really loved about defend the dawn is how it balanced fast-paced action with really thoughtful character moments🫶 every scene felt tense, and what stood out most was how the author showed both sides of every conflict: nothing was simple, and every character had real reasons behind their choices 🥹

the dialogue was clever and witty and the plot kept moving with twists that actually made sense but still surprised me. it’s one of those rare books that mixes smart writing with nonstop adventure, and i liked it even more than the first book defy the night (even tho the first book is already so brilliant imo!!)🫶
defend the dawn is definitely a 4.25⭐️ for me!
