Not Quite Dead Enough by Rex Stout

3.0

Two novellas that contradict more than connect rooming uncomfortably within the same cover. In both instances, things are just starting to get rolling, and then there's a sudden resolution that seems to jump out of nowhere. In a way, it's a fresh twist that subverts the expectations of the genre and series. But of course it's also kind of annoying.
