Maybe that’s why I didn’t find any of these stories remotely scary. There’s definitely a little bit of an eerie feel to a couple of them, and I’m sure they were frightening in Dahl’s day. The writing in all of the stories is very good though. My favorites would be
👻 Harry - Rosemary Timperley
👻 Playmates - A.M. Burrage
👻The Upper Berth - F. Marion Crawford
(The last two being the ones closest to creepy, especially Upper Berth).
