Man. This book held such promise! The concept is great and as far as readability goes, this thing is a strong 5 stars. I found myself eager to get back to it every time I had to put it down which is always an excellent feeling. As was suggested by another reviewer, if you're in a reading rut give this thing a shot. Or recommend it to a friend who can't seem to find "their genre." It's enjoyable and not as convoluted as a lot of other thrillers tend to be. I will admit that I didn't anticipate the ending. So that was fun. Though, I suspect that was in part because there just weren't very many clues leading up to it. The actual circumstances of the disappearance took a backseat to a lot of ultimately inconsequential teenage drama for about 80% of the book. I could have done without about half of that.
