The Overcoat by Nikolai Gogol

4.0

This is short story, actually a satire of life under a Russian bureaucratic regime. Akakiy Akakievitch is a lowly clerk, diligent in his work. He finds ways to scrimp and save to finally have a new arm coat which he badly needs. When it is stolen, a series of events puts Akakiy in torment as he tries to get it back. Will he? I won't spoil the story.
