I'm giving this 4 stars, but very begrudgingly because it was so fucking long. If it was like 100 pages shorter, I would have eaten it up in one sitting instead of needing to take a year-long break in the middle of it.
The characters were loveable and I didn't have an issue with the plot, but Gracewood and Viola could be exhaustingly repetitive in their thoughts. Although a part of me feels like some of the emotion this was suppose to build could have been shown much more efficiently in a flashback (of their friendship, or in the war, or Viola coming home).
