1794: Charlotte by Karen Hawkins

1.0

Eh. Far less engaging than the first of the Nimway Hall series written by [a:Stephanie Laurens|9241|Stephanie Laurens|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1384909892p2/9241.jpg]. It is 1794, and Nimway Hall is now occupied by the daughter of our couple from the first in the series. The family has suffered a terrible loss: the death by accident of her eldest daughter, Caroline, the next Guardian of Nimway. Her twin sister Charlotte is about to marry the childhood playmate, and in honor of the wedding, a renowned Italian sculptor, Marco Rossi, has been hired to build a new mantlepiece from Carrera marble for the hall.

Marco of course is young, handsome, and viral. Charlotte is in reality passionate and wild. You know what happens. And the mysterious orb shows up to help things along. Yet overall it failed to weave the legend and magic surrounding the Hall into the story. I was counting the pages until this all too predictable historical romance ended.
