Get Good with Money: Ten Simple Steps to Becoming Financially Whole by Tiffany Aliche

5.0

Book Type:
-Physical book
Would I recommend?:
-Absolutely! I recommend this book for folks new to finances or who need a stepping stone journey of recommendations
Things I liked:
-SO MANY THINGS!
-This book helped normalize my feelings of guilt and shame toward my finances, helped me feel empowered, and helped me come up with a game plan for the future.
-I can’t stop thinking and talking about the book’s recommendations to my friends
-The book’s lessons felt applicable beyond finances! It also helped me feel less overwhelmed about my future and reminded me to live more by my values and less by my whims.
-I will likely be reading and rereading this book year by year as I continue on my path to financial wholeness.
Things I disliked:
-It took me a little bit of time to adapt to the author’s style, but as soon as I started feeling stressed about finances (Chapter 1? 2?), her style was perfect, soothing, and exactly what I needed.
-I struggled to understand and figure out how to implement the recommendation to search for a side job (Chapter 6, I think?). I am not sure if this is just where I am at right now (working long hours and feeling burnt out) or if I would recommend changes to the chapter?
