sadly this was definitely a miss for me :( i didn’t like it from the beginning, almost dnf’ed it halfway through, but somehow i managed to persevere. i thought emmy was a bit of a weak character, and i thought she let nick walk all over her. and nick was a grade a asshole, especially in the beginning. and the plot, man… it was way too much. so much happened, and when i thought things were gonna wrap up nicely, i realized i had another 20% to go and it was just filled with meaningless scenes and a super random ass plot twist. i could not stop rolling my eyes, i’m sorry.
all that to say, this installment of the series was definitely not for me. i still plan on continuing with the series bc i trust in devney perry, so i’m hoping things get better!
