It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

I LOVED IT SO MUCH

i'm at a loss for words that would do what this book made me feel justice, so i'll just settle for a few from my limited vocabulary.
it was brilliant, heart wrenching, bittersweet, propelling and i have no idea why i didn't pick it up sooner.
this book made me look at domestic abuse from a whole new peespective. i've always been a tad judgemental of women who chose to stay in toxic relationships despite the hurt it caused them. but after reading this, i think i came a bit closer to understanding their struggle.
lily's story had me by the throat, halfway through i couldn't stop reading and occasionally wetting my eyes. i felt a fraction of her pain and her dilemma. she kept making hard decision after hard decision trying to convince herself she was on the right path. letting the temporary happiness cloud her judgement, forgiving time and time again, protecting her partner's feelings with no regards to her own, then eventually seeing her reality for what it is, putting herself and her principles first, and finally breaking free. i loved every second of it.

i am horrified that i nearly gave up on this book after i didn't like the first few chapters.
