I may update this with more eloquent thoughts in the future, but right now i'll just add that it was EXCELLENT and will be one of my favourite reads for the year. The book has a very definite mood and narrative sensibility (read: complete smartass dialogue) that won't be for everyone, but it sure as hell was perfect for me. I'd recommend for fans of Joss Whedon's work since the dark humor and quick wit is very much reminiscent of some of his work, especially the Serenity/Firefly world.

Rated 5 stars for unending snark, extremely quotable moments, non-preachy diversity, a fascinating world, dueling necromancers, vivid characters, and a mystery twisty enough to keep me curious until the end.
