reflective

These books always turn out to be more complex and reflective than I expect. I loved the little glimpses into the lives of people in the neighborhood. Even though we're only with them for a short time, their conflicts feel very familiar, and I really enjoyed seeing Kaga solve their small mysteries. Calling this a slice-of-life murder mystery is a weird thing to say, but that's almost how it felt! I also enjoyed Detective Uesugi's personal experience coming into play as Kaga's did in Malice. Can't wait for the next one!
