The In-Laws
by James Caine
If I had a dollar for every time the author used the word "smirk(ed)" I would have enough to buy Starbucks every day for the rest of the year. This book lost a star because of the number of times Caine wrote that a character smirked - there are so many other descriptive words and I rolled my eyes every time I read the word.
The plot was pretty good with many twists, turns and surprises that I didn't expect and it kept me on my toes.
