Happy Place by Emily Henry
3.0
This was okay. I liked Emily Henry’s writing and her banter and second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes.
The main romance in this novel was okay but at the same time, I felt like the MISCOMMUNICATION thing was on steroids so it was hard not to feel exhausted by it. The book felt like a series of unnecessary events caused by a series of miscommunications by literally every single character. These same characters are supposedly very educated and have a higher than average IQ, so the level of miscommunication was kind of irritating.
Still, I enjoyed reading it, the romance was kinda cute and the banter made me laugh.
Let’s not talk about the ending though because that was disappointing and frankly, unrealistic.
