Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
5.0
Is there really any point in me trying to put into words how much I loved this book? Am I even capable of writing coherent sentences that properly convey the masterpiece that Fourth Wing is?
The answer is no - but I’m going to give my random thoughts anyways…
- Dragons. That’s all that really needs to be said. They are badass and to be protected at all costs. If you’re a fan of Manon and Abraxos, this book is for you.
-Katniss Everdeen has always been my favorite female heroine but I think Violet has moved into that spot. I love the chronic illness representation and that girl just has some serious grit.
- Xaden. Xaden. Xaden. Move over every book boyfriend I have ever claimed to love. There’s a new guy in town and y’all just cannot compete.
- The world building was intriguing from the start and while complex, Yarros did an amazing job of laying it all out for us. The magic system is unique and did I mention the dragons?
- Liam and Rhiannon - two of the best side characters ever written.
- The plot and the romance build at a delicious pace and one doesn’t outshine the other. Yarros found the perfect happy medium between spice and action.
- The ending? I GASPED. The last 50 pages are a damn rollercoaster that you are sure is going to crash into a fiery pit of despair. I stayed up way too late because I had to know what was going to happen and now I need the Iron Flame the way my lungs need oxygen. UNFAIR.
So yeah, read this book. Now. K thanks.
