Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

4.0

Quick Summary: A skewed reality novel

My Review: Yellowface by R.F. Kuang is a 2023 literary fiction read.

About the Book: “White lies. Dark humor. Deadly consequences…”

Filled with secrets, tragedy, untruths, twists, altered intentions, and self-serving manipulations, this novel is a moral and ethical thriller.

My Final Say: What proceeds out of the mouth, what is revealed from the heart, and what is truly the impetus for actions and choices always comes to the light. This novel is a masterpiece in terms of presenting a dilemma of character, yet it presents a conflicting argument about appropriation and representation, as well as about racial integrity.

Other: This would be an interesting book club read. There are so many angles to consider and so many points to have meaningful discussions about, concerning this story.
