Elysium Fire by Alastair Reynolds
3.0
I think this book was a fine installment in my Reynolds journey; however, I think it also definitely marks the end of "must read" compulsion for his Space Operas. I don't think this is an indictment of the book, because it is a good story with good characters. Instead, I think my reticence is a product of an evolved palette. I'm no longer cloud with the newness of Reynolds' worlds—the sheer awesomeness of ideas I could never have before comprehended—leaving me with a fine story and fine dialogue and fine characters. This read will be enjoyable for any fans of hard sci-fi and Reynolds.
