I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston

4.0

Rating: 4.5/5
Genre: YA Contemporary Romance
CW: religious trauma, homophobia

I can’t even put into words how much I loved this book. It’s such an overall happy and exciting book about discovering there’s others like you who exist in the world.

Pros:
-I loved the friendship between Chloe, Rory, and Smith. In any other circumstance it wouldn’t have worked but because they all had a common goal it ended up beautifully and made me smile so many times
-the amount of queer representation that was included, it felt like every two seconds there was a new queer character (not that I’m complaining!)
-at the heart of IKSW is the message that everyone is struggling (often with the same stuff) and the way Chloe came to this realization was written so well
-the clues about Shara’s disappearance were unpredictable and I enjoyed trying to figure out where she went and why she got Chloe, Smith, and Rory involved

Cons:
-the beginning was a little slow
