Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

5.0

Two words: morally gray.

Aah where do I even begin?
The heists? The chemistry? The characters?

I'm absolutely in love with Ketterdam and the way Leigh has brought the characters to life. The plot and plans sometimes took a while getting used to but god it played out beautifully.

The shift in scenes we get to experience was an absolute delight, although told from a third person perspective, every characters thought processes and feelings are wonderfully portrayed and their back story isn't rushed nor do we feel overwhelmed with information.

I went into the books having semi high hopes and damn did it live up and more, to the expectations. I want to be Inej and I want to hug every single character because hell have they been through hell.

There's beautiful wisdom conveyed through the characters lines that addresses larger issues via a creative twist. I absolutely loved the dynamic the characters have and that their growth was realistic and believable.

(Also; The characters may be teenagers but I'm sticking with 20-23 in my imagination xp )

Overall, I'm going to keep coming back to this book now and again for a comfort read, a bit of grim thrill and a whole lot of snark.
