The sequel to the Henna Artist was pretty good. I enjoyed getting to know more people in this world. I also really liked reading a historical fiction about that is not based in the West. 
I did miss Kanta, but was happy to see the return of Malik. As a young adult, his growth at the end of the book was lovely. I wasn't really a fan of Nimmi, but I understand her feelings of insecurity.
