The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner
The Maze Runner displays a thrilling novel that draws one in from the very beginning to the very end. It leaves a cliffhanger at the end of each chapter to push one to read the following chapter. It forces one to imagine themselves in the main character, Thomas’s, shoes. He makes a lot of life changing decisions. It draws very vivid pictures in one’s head. There are gruesome creatures that show up in the novel frequently which appear differently to everyone. The novel causes one to cherish one’s memories because it shows how lost and dangerous life could be if one does not remember one’s past. Also, the book makes one admire and be thankful for the world they live in now because even though there are issues going around today they are not nearly as bad as the ones going on in the Glade in The Maze Runner.
It also illustrates how another life could be. I am grateful I can wake up and know that I am safe, while others might not experience the same feelings. The novel really catches the reader’s eye. The reader becomes unable to put the book down once they pick it up. Also, The Maze Runner is one of four books, so it can keep one occupied for a very long time, each novel ranging around 370 pages. The line, “‘No one understood!’ the boy screamed over the horrible noise of the creature, crunching its way deeper into the Homestead, ripping the walls to pieces,” acts as a complete summary of most of the book. It symbolizes how most of the Gladers felt and how they all viewed the terrible Grievers. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars because it really knows how to grab a reader’s attention from the very beginning and keep the adrenaline pumping throughout the entire book by throwing plot twists in frequently.
