Another one of my most highly anticipated novels of the year. I adored Three Women and I was excited to see what else Taddeo had to offer, especially in terms of fiction.
This book was everything I wanted and more. It was dark and dirty and brutally honest. I appreciated the nods to Italy and Italian culture as — like the protagonist — I also have an Italian mother.
I don’t know what to say about the plot because I am protective of this novel and don’t want to give anything away.
Although I adored this novel, I won’t be recommending it to everyone because I recognise that it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. However, if you liked Milk Fed and Boy Parts and The Harpy and My Year of Rest and Relaxation, then you’ll probably like this.
Rubbish review = amazing book. Why is that always the case?!
