The Terminal List
by Jack Carr
This spy/action/military/Special Forces/etc., thriller in the mold of Lee Child, Brad Thor, and Vince Flynn is a perfect "cheeseburger," my term for books that exist just for escape: they have no real nutritional value, but they taste great going down. This "novel of revenge" is the first in a series starring Carr's protagonist, James Reece, an ex-Special Forces "apex predator." He is wronged, and mayhem ensues. Having grown up in the '60's and '70's on Ian Fleming, Robert Ludlum, and later, Tom Clancy, this is for me a delicious page-turner. Yum, cheeseburgers.
