12/10: no rating or review until flor has received her christmas gift

update 24/12: flor has gotten her christmas gift so here’s the review!

Started this all the way back in May because I'd told Florine I'd read it and share my annotations and thoughts with her along the way! It ended up taking me quite a while to get through it because my reading slumps were very common at some point this year. Luckily I managed to continue it when I got the idea to get a copy of it and annotate it as a Christmas gift!

Now on to the next actual story!
• Okay. I don't know if this is a controversial opinion but I dont really like the relationship between robert and vittoria. Its not a bad relationship, but somehow it doesnt fit in my head and into the story? i feel like it was kind of added just to be added. I dont Know. Luckily it doesnt bother me too much but still.

• As for the plottwists? Amazing. I really loved how the authour played with us. Making you (and the characters) think one thing happened and then BAM another plot twist that leaves you speechless. 10/10 very much enjoyed this.

• It's probably just me not liking catholics or the catholic church, but sometimes i was Wildly uncomfortable with the church speak, because to me it genuinely felt like propaganda at times, but that aside.

• THE HASSASSIN!!!!!!!!!!!! that motherfucker scared the shit out of me. He was genuinely so depraved and scary, i literally got the shviers at certain points. I was very glad he fell to his death.

• Back to Robert and Vittoria. I think if I saw those two IRL, i'd have a bisexual panic. thank you.

• I think I might soon watch the movie and see how it compares to the book and I also think that I'll most likely continue to read the other four books in this series.
