Love in Colour: Mythical Tales from Around the World, Retold by Bolu Babalola
3.0
This was a quick read and totally different to anything I've read recently. It's an anthology of short and romantic stories, neither of which are what I normally go for, but I did genuinely enjoy the change of pace.
The centring of women of colour and modernising of ancient tales was great and what initially got me interested.
The only thing I had trouble with way the frustrating lack of depth that will always happen within the limits of a short story (I'm the kind of person who always wants to know how it turns out) and the kinda YA language that just took me out of the scene every now and then.
All in all a nice palate cleanser between longer reads and some sweet romance is never a bad thing!
