Kill for Me, Kill for You
by Steve Cavanagh
Amanda’s young daughter was murdered, and Amanda wants revenge. When she’s caught stalking the man who got away with her daughter’s murder, she’s forced into group therapy. It’s there that she meets a woman who tries to help her. The woman suggests a “Strangers on a Train” setup. She’ll kill for Amanda if Amanda kills for her too.
Meanwhile, Ruth is awoken one night by shattering glass in her apartment. When she goes to investigate, she’s brutally stabbed. Ruth’s trauma affects everything in her life, including her relationship with her husband, who will do anything to make sure Ruth recovers.
These storylines remain separate for most of Cavanagh’s new thriller, but once they intertwine, readers will be left marveling at the Cavanagh’s corrupt creativity. What at first presents itself as a predictable retelling, turns into a traumatic and twisted story of red herrings. The story is told from multiple perspectives including not just Amanda and Ruth, but also Ruth’s husband and a detective connected to both women’s cases.
This is a must read for mystery lovers.
