Okay, this book? What the hell???

So, first of all, I'm so sick of all those clichés and those expectations. Now, Harl hasn't had a guy for six freaking years. Cause, yes, she's still so in love with her ex-husband and just can't move on. No, wait, that's not right, is it? Well, who knows?? Probably is. I am still unsure there due to what was said in the previous book... What is with this stupid expectation that girls shouldn't move on from their 'one love'. What the heck??
Now, of course, things are entirely different with her ex-bf. Cause he had three women during her absence. Now, that's not that much, right? Could have been worse, right?
Okay, yes, true, BUT I just hate the message that is being delivered here!! Would she be seen as a slut if she had had other guys??
And let's not even talk about that here because Harl is portrayed totally differently in the previous novel. Navie even talked about hearing various voices coming from her bedroom. So the whole story is just not believable.

Second, I was not overly fond of Harl's guy. Ahm, sorry, but he had six freaking years to make amends and this sh*t waits for her to come back??? He should have gone to her, he should have begged her to take him back.
Let me draw your attention to what he did to her when they were 18. Yes, 18. I know that's young but that doesn't mean that he had any right to be a conceited, arrogant and selfish ass. She was in the same situation as he was; while she was basically locked in at his home, he could go out with his friends and enjoy life?? Ahm, no!
What annoyed me most is that he never really apologized!! Sure, he told her he was sorry, he was an ass but he never talked about his feelings at that time, talked about why he did what he did. It was just sooo disappointing. No maturity at all.

So, yes, I really, really didn't like this guy at that point. And then he made it worse by first promising her he would give her time and then rushing her and being a complete childish and immature ass again. I mean, just why????
At that point, I wanted to stop reading. And I nearly did.

Now, let me also talk a bit about Harl.
I do get why she left at 18. I totally get it, I must admit.
What I didn't get - at all!!!- was that she left her poor brother. I mean, gosh, how could she even??
But okay, she repented for that.
Nevertheless, when she gets back, everything's just worse. I cannot believe how immature she handles finding him in a compromising position with a 'friend'. I mean,
SPOILER

she's the one who got pregnant at 17 and yet, she has no clue how to talk to him about condoms? Everyone sees the sex talk as this embarrassing situation but it shouldn't be like that! Kids need to know about that! It shouldn't be a taboo!! Especially she should know that...

Other than that, I found that she had no backbone. She's the one who crawls back to him, she's the one who gives into her body's desires all the time.

I don't know. Not cool....
