Going There
by Katie Couric
Enjoyed listening to Katie discuss her career and life (mostly from college to near present), including most of those moments you know - her husband’s cancer and her fight for cancer, September 11th, her move to CBS nightly news then her own show, on to yahoo to Katie Couric Media today. It is interesting hearing her thoughts about all of it (including relationships). I thought the part about Today when they had all the sensational news was interesting. I didn’t like morning shows during that time and quit watching, and came back when it wasn’t all these weird lawsuits and craziness. A lot on the #metoo movement and especially the end of her friendship with Matt Lauer. Some of the things are hard to hear (like Civil War history with her husband Jay), but I also understand why she wanted to tell her story and look at her life as a journalist might. I felt like the book contained parts of her life that someone might talk about on the Today Show, so I can see why she included them.
